Day at the Modesto Reservoir

On April 15th, my fiance, granddaughter and I went to the Modesto Reservoir. we packed swimming stuff for our granddaughter with sunscreen change of clothes, towel and sandals. For food we packed hot dogs, hamburgers, potato salad, chips, soda, water and watermelon. I  brought some sketch paper and a pencil. we also brought a radio to listen to. Since it was during the weekday it wasn't very crowded.
We spent most of the time lounging around ad our granddaughter played in the water. About lunchtime my fiance heated the charcoal for the barbeque. After the briquettes was ready he started to put the hamburgers on the grill when he realises there was no spatula to flip the patties or tongs for the dogs. Eventually, he used the pliers from his toolbox in his truck to move the dogs. (What would Macgyver do?) After 2 pm, the wind started to pick up.  It was enough that it would blow light cups and plates all over the place. About 2:30pm, we decided to leave. All and all, we had a good time. The only problem was my 5 year old granddaughter freaking out over the bugs in the restroom stalls. I had to shove her into it to make her change clothes.
Rule to follow: make a list and make sure you follow it.
